Did you miss Beijing?
In this Congress issue of ZOOM, we are bringing highlights from the Tuesday
programme. It was targeted to policy makers within pharmacy practice around
the world. More than 200 participants attended the programme. The Steering
Committee elected a new secretary and 1 new member to the Executive
Committee.
We are also announcing the winners of the 2007 CPS Poster Award.

Trends
in community pharmacy – debating the future of the profession: Forum for
policymakers in pharmacy practice
Ema Paulino (Portugal), member of the
Executive Committee of the Section, chaired the Tuesday morning session
together with Dick Tromp (The Netherlands), Vice-President of FIP. The
session covered four “hot topics”:
Pharmacist
prescribing (USA: Collaborative practice)
Deregulation
of pharmacy
Leadership
and succession – preparing the next generation of community pharmacists
The
community pharmacist – the forgotten healthcare team member?

Customer Relationships
Prafull Sheth (India), Vice President of
FIP, chaired the full day programme on Customer relationships together with
Hanne Herborg, Denmark. This year’s programme was a follow-up on last
year´s programme in Salvador Bahia.

Steering Committee meeting
|
Tuesday afternoon was the time slot for the official annual meeting of
the Steering Committee of the Section. The Executive Committee reported
on their activities and the plans for the future. Furthermore, there were
elections for a new member and a new secretary to the Executive
Committee.

Poster
award
A CPS poster award was given for the
second time at this year’s FIP Congress. Three posters were identified as
winners by the Jury, Olivier Bugnon, (Switzerland), Ema Paulino (Portugal)
and Bente Frøkjær (Denmark). The Prizes were presented to the winners at
the Section Dinner.
